The University of Economics in Katowice is one of the oldest universities in Silesia (1936), one out of five public economic universities in the country and the largest university in the region providing education in the field of socio-economic sciences. From the very beginning, it focuses on education in the field of knowledge about modern economy and on cooperation with business and public administration.
Currently, at the Katowice campus and the branch in Rybnik, there are more than 8,000 students, PhD students and postgraduate students in Polish and English, in general academic and practical fields of studies.
UE Katowice is consistently implementing its internationalization strategy. It is the first university in Silesia with the CEEMAN IQA international institutional accreditation - one of the most prestigious and valued in the area of managerial education. Currently, the university is applying for further international accreditations: AACSB - for universities and EFMD - for International Business (second-cycle studies).
Students benefit from numerous scholarships and foreign programs in over 400 companies and nearly 200 partner universities around the world. In its over 80-year tradition, the University of Economics in Katowice has educated over 135,000 graduates valued by employers.
